TREVOR WILSON - ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Acknowledgements, released in 2006, feels like a collection of studies. The diverse range of styles, song by song, indicates Trevor might have developed himself in many different ways, and maybe still can. There are echoes of improvisational music, folk music, bossa nova, rock, pop, hip-hop, etc. Here we find the Trevor that takes the risk of extending a nailclippers and scissors for jam for three minutes, or the Trevor that exclaims, 'They're gonna kill you, and if they don't, they're gonna find out where you are!'

It is also the Trevor that somewhat timidly performs some songs that became Tall Ships standards, such as Earth-Mars Flight (Money Money Money), Professor Fairbridge (Bada Ba Ba Ba), and The Polar Institute (I Saw Your Face). It is always a pleasure to be given alternate takes of the same song, especially performed at very different times. The differences can be just as interesting as the songs themselves.

The album was released in an edition of 25 hand made woven map envelopes under Eugene Bennington Records and is now unavailable. A reissue may be in the works, but the album has always been intended to be a free download release. (See link above.)
