STINGRAY MIGRATION
Stingray Migration is really a supergroup, combining some of the best musicians on the Bennington scene - Michael Chinworth (solo, Tavo Carbone), Maia Friedman (solo, Tall Ships), Nate Luce (solo, Key Lime Pussy), Roby Moulton (solo), Ham Poe (Tall Ships, Tavo Carbone), and Will Stratton (solo). They began working in late Fall 2008, and really worked up a good batch of songs in the Spring of 2009.
There's a huge spectrum of sound available with this group. At times they have played acoustic without the rhythm section and performed beautiful four-part harmonies, so soft and sweet it just brings you out of your chair. Other times they've played seriously, seriously loud rock sets. They can bring a forceful energy regardless of what decibel the situation calls for.
We are anxiously watching to see the genesis of the group, as they are still figuring out what exactly to do with their material, now that their members are split up between NYC and Bennington VT. We give them our trust, love, and hope, and we bet they're going to give us something great this fall.
