ADVRB

Hailing from the Pacific Northwest's Eugene, Oregon, Advrb locks melody with passion and confronts silence with a well-arched defiant lip. He captures fragments of memories and landscapes.

His musical career began with producing and recording a friend's album when he had no idea how to play anything. He started playing loud improvised post rock with his friends in a garage out in the woods shortly thereafter. This somehow developed into indie-pop music and 'Advrb' began.

Andrew's first high school albums (now out of print and retired) were released under his full name, Andrew DeVries Barton. Advrb is simply that name with a bunch of letters taken out.

Counted in his current discography are an atmospheric autumnal album called Sleep Soundly (2005, Open Face reissue 2009), an experimentally produced pop album called Sentimental Education (2006), and a winter-in-french-canada-themed subtle, layered, cold album called On Blustery Mornings (2007), an electric and eclectic summer-song album called Hot Air Balloon (2008), and a drum machine/acoustic guitar based mini album released on cassette called Revive Old Wonder (2009). All of these albums are streaming at his bandcamp site.

The next Advrb record? It's coming and it hopes to be as complex and rich as a damn good cup of coffee.
