JING JING JINGALING12/20/09

A young man who Trevor worked with this summer took 'Mighty Spruce' from Plants and Bodies and did an insane remix of it, at Trevor's request. We have uploaded it on our server and offer it to the greater community to download for free, as a holiday gift, as we did last year with 'El Regalo'.

He goes as 'Kaleidoscope Culture'. He has some great digital music sampes of his own, and we're really excited about his work.

We are proud to announce the BAKING division of Open Face Records, called OPEN FACE BAKERY. It is happening currently out of North Bennington VT, and currently consists of Trevor's breads and pies- although it is likely that baking enthusiasts Dana and Faith and doughman Jackson Emmer will be a part of this collaboration soon.

We are already spanning two coasts, as Advrb's Andrew Barton is operating a small-scale hummus operation out of his kitchen. Soon you will see a BAKERY section of our site. We view this as an obvious and minor change to the mission of our collective.

Pegasissy's Myspace emo rock internet musical drama, Geoff McCreedy and the Massive Faggots, is now available for online distro! This is a very special release- half of the proceeds are going to The Trevor Project, a 24/7 suicide hotline for gay and questioning teens. Less importantly, the album is also packaged in a jewel case, something we haven't done in six years! You can read more about Geoff McCreedy and the Massive Faggots and order the album by clicking here or the images below.

MARKING IT DOWN 8/28/09

We know a lot of you would like to get a bit more information at a bit speedier rate than it has been coming through this website. That's why we just set up a twitter! It's very strange to be adapting a technology that was literally just conceived, but we're a generation that has to roll with the punches.

On our twitter, you'll find that all of our artists have the ability to post small updates. This means that you can get a lot more information from the record label a lot quicker. So check it out!

MULTIPLE SIGHTINGS 8/19/09

Lots of little things to report! Hope you have been having a wonderful summer... despite being a summer of many changes, we have enjoyed ourselves so far!

Mountain Man had a great tour this summer, thanks to everyone for their support! Stay tuned for their fall plans.

Advrb and Pegasissy have been busy working on recordings over in the pacific northwest, mounds and mounds of recordings that are currently buried deep below the planet's surface, waiting for the right moment to be uncovered. Also, Pegasissy now has a bandcamp!

Dana and Faith have already sold out their first edition of What's Your Favorite Spice, and are now making more!

Skip is making his way down to NYC, and has enjoyed lots of summer night jams with various friends.

Trevor has been learning the uke and preparing for his tour with Tavo Carbone this fall, plus working on a bunch of material for the next album. He has also made Growth and Decay fully downloadable through bandcamp! Acknowledgements and Tall Ships are also available for free download.

Jackson Emmer
is a new recruit of ours! He has released much great music on his own, and is a good friend of ours, so we're really excited to have him here.

Only the Sound Between Us, a brilliant but oft-forgotten LP made by Pegasissy, is now officially rereleased with updated packaging! You can see the new look on its store page. It's also totally available for online purchase, so give it a browse! It has a lot of songs that Pegasissy has since popularized in his live performances.

We love you!

MAGIC TOUCH 5/21/09

Trevor's senior thesis and new musical project, 'Growth and Decay', was performed yesterday! It is the culmination of many many hours of work, and a pretty kicking ensemble of strings and voices. We are uncertain how we will be releasing it as of now. But you can stream the album here, or watch movies of it here! Enjoy!
